For many Coast Guard Auxiliarists in our area, a favorite local cruising destination is the Isles of Shoals.  These consist of nine rocky places that are actually considered islands, but scattered among them are many rocks and ledges that also have names.  Five of the isles are in State of Maine waters: Appledore, Cedar, Duck, Malaga and Smuttynose.  The other four are in New Hampshire waters: Lunging, Seavey's, Star and White.

The New Hampshire seacoast is a very small area but is packed with great cruising destinations that are very close to our flotilla's area of operations.  A great source of information is SeacoastNH.com
